LINE ON Injection
7 questionsMore about LINE ON Injection →
Once I’ve had LINE ON Injection, can the fat come back?
The most common misconception is that a single session will stop you from gaining weight again. There’s a limit to how much fat one session can reduce, so at most it refines a contour.
Does LINE ON Injection contain steroids?
No. Steroids can produce an effect by shrinking tissue, but they can cause side effects throughout the body, including irregular periods and bleeding between periods, so I don’t use them.
If there’s no set dose limit, how much LINE ON Injection do you actually use?
I inject the amount that gives the greatest effect in each area. How much that is depends on your body weight, the thickness of the fat under your skin and the skin elasticity in that area.
Will the treatment still work if I don’t exercise or watch my diet?
It may still have an effect, but without exercise and a healthy diet, the change soon wears off.
What does it mean to inject precisely into the fat layer?
Even within the fat under the skin, there are deep, middle and shallow layers. Injecting precisely means telling these layers apart in each area and injecting at the depth where the treatment works best.
What does the 15-minute microwave treatment do?
The microwave treatment works on two layers: it destroys fat in the fat layer and improves elasticity in the dermis, the deeper layer of the skin. Used together with LINE ON Injection, each enhances the effect of the other.
If there’s no set dose limit, how much LINE ON Injection is too much?
Because of how the LINE ON Injection solution is formulated, the dose isn’t limited by body weight. But injecting too much puts excess pressure on the skin, and recovery can take longer with little gain in effect.
3cc Face LINE ON
7 questionsMore about 3cc Face LINE ON →
What are the most common misconceptions about 3cc Face LINE ON?
Two worries come up most: that the filler will slide down, and that it can’t be removed later without being scraped out.
Is 3 mL of filler really enough?
For most people, yes. The aim isn’t to add volume and make the face bigger, but to reinforce the areas where the face lacks structural support.
Can filler cause an allergic reaction?
Rarely, yes. Because filler isn’t your own tissue, it can occasionally cause an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction. If that happens, we dissolve the filler with an enzyme injection (hyaluronidase) so your body can absorb it.
How do you decide where to put filler on my face and how much?
Faces vary too much from person to person to fit a single formula. I look at your face to see where structural support is lacking, then set priorities within the fixed amount of filler.
Why use 3 mL of filler in total instead of treating each area separately?
Because a face is about the balance of the whole, not about individual parts.
What’s the difference between Korean-made and imported fillers?
It’s less about Korean-made versus imported than about the manufacturer. Each company has its own way of producing hyaluronic acid and of treating the cross-linking agent, which affects how much of it remains after the final washing. Each also has its own processes, standards and specifications for the filler’s physical properties.
Do the areas that need filler change with age?
Yes. With age, facial bone is resorbed, the deep fat under the skin decreases, the skin loses elasticity and the shallow fat sags, and the muscles weaken. Together, these turn the “inverted triangle” of a young face, fuller at the cheeks and narrower at the jaw, into a triangle.
Nose LINE ON
7 questionsMore about Nose LINE ON →
What are the most common misconceptions about Nose LINE ON?
One is that the threads never dissolve. The other is a pair of opposite beliefs: that the effect lasts more than a year, or that it doesn’t even last a month.
Will nose threads cause problems if I want nose surgery later?
Compared with a nose that has never been treated, surgery involves one extra step, so it can be slightly more work for the surgeon. But it won’t stop you from having surgery or make the result worse.
Can I get Nose LINE ON if I’m thinking about nose surgery later?
If you’re already considering surgery, I recommend having surgery from the start.
Is LSCO a thread or a filler?
LSCO is a thread: an L-shaped lifting suture made for shaping the nose. Nose LINE ON uses LSCO together with filler to refine the shape of the nose without surgery.
How is Nose LINE ON different from a regular nose thread lift or nose filler?
A thread behaves more like a solid, while filler is more like a gel that can flow. Threads are better for firmly lifting the nasal tip, and filler is better for creating fine detail in the shape.
How does the L-shaped nose thread avoid poking through the skin, and why does it last longer?
Because I designed it so that the nasal tip rests on a broad surface, where the thread folds into an L, rather than on the sharp end of a thread.
How much can you change a nose without surgery?
A change of up to 20% from your nose’s current shape is well within what non-surgical treatment can do. If you want a bigger change than that, I recommend surgery.
Breast Fat Transfer
4 questionsMore about Breast Fat Transfer →
What are the most common misconceptions about breast fat transfer?
The most common worry is that it will cause calcification or oil cysts. These are indeed the best-known complications of fat transfer. But when an appropriate amount of fat is transferred, within a range that doesn’t raise the risk, not every fat transfer leads to oil cysts and calcification.
How much of the transferred fat stays after breast fat transfer?
Published studies put the fat retention rate at about 50%. It can drop to about 30% if you lose weight, and it can rise to as much as 70% if you gain weight.
Breast implants or fat transfer: which is right for me?
If you want to go up three or more cup sizes at once, implants are the right choice. If you want a change of about one to one and a half cup sizes, fat transfer can achieve that.
Where do you take the fat from?
Breast fat transfer needs about 400–500 mL of pure fat after processing. It’s usually taken from the thighs, abdomen and love handles.
Lower Body LINE ON
8 questionsMore about Lower Body LINE ON →
What are the most common misconceptions about Lower Body LINE ON?
The most common misconception is that what’s added will slide down. Transferred fat doesn’t slide down.
How long does transferred fat last once it has taken?
As long as you don’t lose weight, you can expect fat that has taken to stay largely as it is, just like the rest of your own fat.
For hip dips and buttocks, is filler or fat transfer better?
Hip dips are an area that naturally has little fat. In some people the tissue there has room to spare; in others it is very tight. The tighter it is, the less of the transferred fat takes.
Why does Lower Body LINE ON treat the thighs, buttocks and love handles together?
If you only treat the thighs, only the thighs improve; if you only treat the waist, only the waist gets slimmer. What matters is one continuous line running through the thighs, buttocks and love handles.
How do you decide between liposuction alone and adding fat transfer to the buttocks?
If your buttocks are already full, slimming just the thighs can make them look bigger, so liposuction alone may be enough to bring out the line. If you have hip dips, or your hips or buttocks themselves lack volume, liposuction alone may not be enough.
What’s the difference between the EVA device and Lipokit for processing fat?
When harvested fat is spun in a centrifuge, it separates into blood, pure fat and a layer of oil. Only the pure fat is transferred, so how cleanly the oil layer is separated out matters a great deal.
How much fat can be removed with liposuction in one session?
There’s no fixed upper limit. It depends on your body weight, how much tumescent solution (a saline-based fluid) is injected into the fat under the skin, and how much blood comes out with the removed fat.
What should I expect with compression garments, swelling and bruising after liposuction?
Generally, most of the swelling goes down in about 1 month, and the rest in about 3 months. Bruising mostly fades within 2 weeks.
General questions
4 questions
Are there times you advise against treatment?
Yes. I believe whether a treatment is technically possible and whether it’s worth doing for that person are two completely different questions.
Is filler still a good choice these days?
If you want to improve volume, filler is still a good choice. In fact, I think filler is underrated.
How do you assess a person’s natural lines?
Whether it’s the face or the body, I look at the flow and proportions that connect one area to the next, not at a single area. That’s because no single line suits everyone.
Can I see you if I’m having problems after treatment at another clinic?
Yes. For people who want to regain lines they’ve lost, whether after a first surgery or a revision, we’re also planning to offer corrective care after surgery.
