FAQ
Can Renuvion help with a loose belly after pregnancy?
Dr. Oh’s answer
If there’s remaining fat and the skin is only mildly loose, Renuvion can be combined with abdominal liposuction. If your abdominal muscles have separated or there’s enough excess skin to form folds, Renuvion alone is unlikely to be enough.
After pregnancy, the abdomen usually has a mix of three things: remaining fat, stretched skin and separated abdominal muscles.
Fat is removed with liposuction, and stretched skin is tightened with Renuvion. A belly that sticks out because the abdominal muscles have separated is a muscle issue, so it won’t flatten even after the fat is removed and the skin is tightened. If a long ridge rises down the middle of your belly when you lift your head while lying down, your abdominal muscles may have separated, so we check for this together at your examination.
We don’t perform the treatment during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. We recommend coming in for a consultation once your weight has stabilized.
