If you want to fill hollow areas, filler is still a good choice. Skin boosters address the texture and condition of the skin itself, rather than volume. At your examination, we work out which comes first.

There are many names, but sorted by what they do, there are only a few types
They fall roughly into skin boosters, collagen stimulators (injections that use the body’s response to the injected ingredient) and materials taken from your own body. SKIN ON is the collective name for the products we use at LINE ON, grouped this way.

Treatments whose changes appear slowly, such as collagen stimulators, are often given over several sessions. Having every product doesn’t make the result better. So we choose only what you need and set the number of sessions and the interval.

What’s in SKIN ON
- RejuranA skin booster made with PN (polynucleotide). PN is a purified ingredient made from DNA fragments taken from sources such as salmon. It is generally used for skin texture and thinning skin.
- RituoA skin booster made with human-derived extracellular matrix (ECM). The extracellular matrix is the material that fills and supports the spaces between cells in the skin. It is generally used to replenish the structures that support the skin.
- Juvelook+PDRNJuvelook is a collagen stimulator made with PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid). PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) belongs to the same DNA-fragment family as PN and is used together with Juvelook.
- PRPPlatelet-rich plasma: your own blood is centrifuged, and only the plasma rich in platelets is collected. Along with it, substances released by platelets that are involved in growth, wound healing, recovery and the formation of new blood vessels are injected.
- Skin toxin+hydrating injectionBotulinum toxin is usually used to stop muscles from moving. With skin toxin, it’s injected in small amounts into the shallow layer of the skin and is generally used for skin texture, oil (sebum) and pores. It’s given together with a hydrating injection, which mainly places hyaluronic acid in the shallow layer of the skin to improve hydration.
- RadiesseA filler made with CaHA (calcium hydroxylapatite) that is also classed as a collagen stimulator. It both adds volume and is gradually absorbed.

Skin boosters and collagen stimulators
Below is a general classification. Products in the same group still differ in their properties.
- Skin boosters
- This is the common name for injections placed in small amounts into the shallow layer of the skin to care for the texture and condition of the skin itself. PN, PDRN, extracellular matrix and hyaluronic acid hydrating injections belong to this group.
- Stimulators
- Collagen stimulators are injections that rely on the surrounding tissue’s response while the injected ingredient is gradually absorbed by the body. PDLLA and CaHA belong to this group.
How are they different from filler?
With filler, the resulting volume is predictable, and it can be dissolved if a problem occurs. It’s also relatively easy to achieve the amount of volume you want.
Skin boosters work on the skin itself, so they aren’t suited to filling hollow areas. If both volume and skin are concerns, we plan the two together.
Common reactions after treatment
Most settle within a few days, though how much and for how long depends on the product and your skin.
- Injection marks
- Injections into the shallow layer of the skin can leave small raised bumps where they went in. These settle as the ingredient spreads.
- Redness & bruising
- Redness, swelling and bruising may appear where you were injected.
- Small lumps you can feel
- Rarely, collagen stimulators can cause small lumps (nodules) you can feel. After treatment, please follow our aftercare instructions.
Please tell us before treatment
- Medications you take
- Medications or supplements that make bleeding harder to stop can make you bruise more easily, so please let us know in advance.
- Allergies
- If you’ve ever had an allergy to an ingredient, be sure to tell us when we choose products.
- Past treatments
- Please tell us about any recent filler, laser or skin booster treatments.

Who this surgery suits, and who it doesn’t
- The texture and condition of your skin concern you more than volume
- You can have treatment spread over several sessions
When we don’t recommend it
- Your main goal is to add volume
- You have inflammation, an infection, severe acne or a skin condition such as herpes in the area to be treated (we’ll reassess once it has settled)
- You’re pregnant or breastfeeding (we’ll tell you after an examination whether treatment is possible)
Precautions
- Please don’t drive on the day you have IV sedation.
- The injection sites need time to heal. Please wait until we say it’s fine before washing your face or wearing makeup.
- Don’t rub or press the treated areas, and massage them only if we advise you to.
- Please avoid saunas, heat rooms and exercise that makes you sweat a lot for the period we advise.
- Use sunscreen, and for the period we advise, take a break from exfoliation and harsh skin-care products.
- Please avoid alcohol for the period we advise.
Results and recovery vary from person to person. Whether a treatment suits you is decided after Dr. Oh examines you in person.

How many skin booster sessions will I need?
It depends on the product and your skin. Skin boosters and collagen stimulators are often given over several sessions. We decide the number of sessions and the interval after your examination.
When will I start to see results?
It depends on the ingredient. With treatments that target hydration, such as hydrating injections, some people notice a difference relatively early, while collagen stimulators work gradually. How much you notice varies from person to person.
Can I have several products together?
Sometimes we plan them together. We decide after your examination whether to do them on the same day or separately.
Will skin botulinum toxin make my expressions look unnatural?
It’s injected in small amounts into the shallow layer of the skin, so the layer and amount differ from injections meant to stop muscles from moving. Depending on where and how much is injected, though, it can affect your expressions, so we plan it after an examination.
