Fat transfer

Fat transfer

We use your own fat. Before deciding how much to add, we first check how much fat can reasonably be harvested and how much the area can comfortably hold.

Adding more fat doesn’t mean all of it will take

Fat transfer is surgery that uses fat from your own body. We start by looking at how much fat can be harvested and how much the area can comfortably hold.

Our principles for fat transfer

01

We start with how much fat can be harvested

Fat transfer is surgery that takes fat from your own body and moves it. So we don’t look only at where it will go. We first look at how much fat can reasonably be harvested. It’s usually taken from the thighs, abdomen and love handles. If there’s an area you’d like to slim, we take that into account when choosing where to harvest from.

02

We transfer only purified fat

When harvested fat is centrifuged (spun quickly to separate it by weight), it separates into blood, pure fat and a layer of oil. Only the pure fat is transferred, so the oil layer has to be removed cleanly.

03

How much stays depends on your weight

The share of transferred fat that takes (the fat retention rate) is generally around 50% after 3 months. It can fall if you lose weight and rise if you gain weight. That’s why keeping the weight you had at surgery matters most. After surgery, please eat well, sleep well and rest well.
