FAQ
If Renuvion heats the tissue under the skin to 85°C, can it cause burns?
Dr. Oh’s answer
The fibrous tissue under the skin reaches about 85°C, but only very briefly, so the skin surface stays below 41°C. Burns are still possible with any heat-based treatment, so we watch your skin and adjust the energy and number of passes as we go.
In the manufacturer’s thermal imaging data, the skin surface temperature barely rose even after four passes over the thigh. This is because the heat doesn’t build up over time.
A study that pooled records from 483 patients who had Renuvion after liposuction found no new or increased risks compared with liposuction alone. In a clinical study of the neck and under the chin (65 patients), there were also no serious adverse events related to the device or the procedure.
Even so, redness or blisters can occur in rare cases. If you notice a change in skin color or blisters after treatment, please take a photo and contact us right away.
