FAQ

Do the areas that need filler change with age?

Dr. Oh’s answer

Dr. Oh Hae Seok, Medical Director

Yes. With age, facial bone is resorbed, the deep fat under the skin decreases, the skin loses elasticity and the shallow fat sags, and the muscles weaken. Together, these turn the “inverted triangle” of a young face, fuller at the cheeks and narrower at the jaw, into a triangle.

So I look for the areas where structural support has weakened and place filler in the right spots to strengthen support and volume and restore tension to the muscles. This can bring the face back to an inverted-triangle shape.
